ACTS College 43rd Graduation
By Bay Jo-el, ACTS College
The graduation marked the beginning of a new chapter in these graduates’ lives.
On November 14, 2021, Sunday, ACTS College celebrated the joy of its 43rd batch of graduates in completing their training. The simple graduation service held at Eternal Life Assembly saw 15 graduates receiving their academic Diplomas, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees.
The graduates had persevered in a less-than-ideal environment of online learning as they pursued their studies. Close friends and families were present to witness their loved ones in this milestone event, making it even more heartfelt considering social distancing as they were able to share each other’s joy in person. Surely, beneath the masks were smiles on everyone’s faces during the service.
Rev Terence Ong was the special guest speaker for the graduation service, and he challenged them to focus on being faithful to finish well instead of running the race with their strength. He reminded them that they are empowered to succeed because they believe in God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
This graduation service also saw graduates Elika Mercado and Tan Choon Poh (Joel) shared their Student Response. It recalled the journeys they took in ACTS College and provided a glimpse into how the community has nurtured them as individuals and taught them biblically sound theology. This segment highlighted how different people from different places could come together and learn in a communal environment from both lecturers and fellow students.
The graduation service ended this special chapter of theological training and re-opens a new one in the lives of these graduates. May they continue to fear the Lord and serve Him all the days of their lives, wherever He may call them.
